Improving Physical Health Care in the Behavioral Health System:
YOU WANT US TO DO WHAT?!
The Renaissance Hotel • Columbus, Ohio
Thursday, June 16, 2011 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Who should attend?
Directors, managers and administrators of community mental health agencies. Frontline workers, clinicians and peer specialists. Mental
health advocates, family members and individuals with mental illness.
Conference highlights:
Mental and physical health are prerequisites for wellness. One is not achieved without the other. In the wake of studies showing that
people with mental illnesses die several years younger than those without mental illness, SAMHSA has established the 10 X 10 initiative
which challenges Ohio and others to increase life expectancy by 10 years over the next 10 years.
Hear from the state’s foremost leaders about Ohio’s plans to respond to this challenge by integrating physical and mental health care.
Listen to mental health agency directors discuss the high points and pitfalls of their initial efforts to integrate physical healthcare guidelines
into their daily mental health care practices. And hear a national consumer expert share her perspective about the role of consumers in the
ever changing healthcare environment.
Guest Speakers Include:
Greg Moody, Director of the Office of Health Transformation
Tracy Plouck, Director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health
Melody Reifer, Director of Training; Pat Deegan PhD & Associates, LLC
Janie Bailey, Columbus Area Inc.
John Goris, Nova House Assn. Inc.
