Jane Babinsky is the owner of K9 Piper’s Place Ltd, which
is a dog daycare that offers dog training and grooming
and a retail shop for owners. She has her Bachelors of Arts
in American Studies from Heidelberg College. Jane is an
accredited evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine
Good Citizen Program and Therapy Dogs International, Inc., and a speaker at the national and international conferences organized by Delta Society. She has also written many articles on the subject of Pet Therapy and has been making visits with her dogs since 1978 providing support to families.

Kathryn Harrison Brown, MA, PC
Kathryn Harrison Brown is a Bereavement Coordinator and
a licensed Professional Counselor at Hospice of the Western
Reserve where she works with families who are grieving
due to the death of a loved one. She has her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts from Ursuline College in Psychology. She obtained a Masters in Counseling and Human Services from John Carroll University. She has not only worked with grieving families due to the death of a person but has helped families deal with the loss of a pet.

Conference Objectives:
• Discuss the importance of pets in the lives of adults.
• Discuss how to achieve therapy dog certification.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of grief due to the loss of a pet.
