WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The physical, social, emotional, intellectual, financial, and behavioral consequences related to the misuse and addictive use of alcohol and other drugs represents the single greatest negative impact on the quality of life in America today. Yet as pervasive as the problem has been and continues to be, few people have a working understanding of “ America ’s #1 public health issue.” This workshop will provide for participants a basic foundational understanding of alcohol and other drug use, the risks and consequences, what addiction is and is not, and how to intervene with the user and the family system of which he or she is a part.
