Suicide Assessment, Prevention, and Intervention on College Campuses

Drs. Paul and Darcy Granello (The Ohio State University) will provide a four hour training on  suicide assessment, prevention, and intervention on college campuses.  The training will provide an overview of suicide, an understanding of beliefs and myths about suicide, and theoretical perspectives Attendees will learn components of suicide assessment, risk factors, legal and ethical  considerations, and discuss multicultural factors associated with college students.  Prevention and  intervention models geared towards college students will be addressed. 

The training will be geared towards clinicians working on college campuses or with college- going clients.  The training is open to licensed counselors and social workers working on college  campuses, community mental health agencies, counselor educators, psychologists, nurses, and graduate students in counseling programs.

                        9:15 – 10:00 am Registration/sign -in

                        10:00 – 12:00 pm Training

                        12:00 – 1:30 pm Lunch (on your own)

                        1:30 – 3:30 pm Training
