A person awarded the HLM title has been dedicated to not only the field of Art Therapy in general, but also to BATA or other organizations associations with Art Therapy, throughout their career. This individual has spent time and talent helping the field of Art Therapy grow through clinical services, education, or research.

Awarded to an individual who was/is a BATA member and has used leadership skills to further the mission of BATA and Art Therapy. The recipient has mentored and supervised art therapists, provided direction and input to the BATA Board of Directors and committees, and guided others to advocate for Art Therapy's growth in Ohio, nationally and internationally.
