Join us for a virtual CEU event presented by the Buckeye Art Therapy Association (BATA).
Ohio art therapist Raja Aossey, ATR-BC, will join us to share her work in pediatric medical art therapy, with an emphasis on the Power Cards intervention.
This presentation and workshop will explore the role of pediatric medical art therapy within the hospital setting, focusing on individual, group, and caregiver sessions. Medical art therapy serves as a vital tool in addressing the emotional, psychological, and developmental needs of young patients facing illness, trauma, and grief while supporting the whole family unit. Through a combination of individualized sessions and collaborative group art therapy experiences, the expressive power of art encourages positive coping, connection, comfort, quality of life, grief support, and holistic healthcare.
A highlight of this presentation will discuss the Power Card collage workshop, a strengths-based intervention designed to cultivate a sense of agency and foster resiliency in the face of illness.
Participants will have the opportunity to create their own Power Cards using collage techniques to reflect on their own personal resiliency and strengths during this workshop.
